II CONTEMPORARY SCIENCE FILM FESTIVAL 360° SUMS UP THE RESULTS
On October 17, in the last film screening day jury session of II Contemporary science film festival 360° was held. The jury chaired by Viktor Kosakovsky consisted of Oleg Genisaretsky, Vera Kritchevskaya and Vincent Lami. By voting the jury selected the film which was awarded with the Grand Prix of the Festival. Also they chose the film marked with the special jury prize. The intrigue was kept before official closing ceremony held that night. At the ceremony producer Ekaterina Khaustova summed up the results of the Festival 2012 and congratulated all the coordinators and partners on its successful completion. After that the jury chairman Viktor Kosakovsky started the awarding ceremony. The film “Project Nim” - Director James Marsh was awarded with the Grand Prix of Contemporary science film festival 360°. “The Substance” – Director Martin Witz was awarded with special jury prize Ilya Hellert-Rozanov presented the prize “24 Techno” of official TV channel of the Festival to the film “Time Freak”. The chairman of the jury Viktor Kosakovsky made a special mention of the following: “It stands to reason that the Festival pursues noble aims – it is one of the main reasons explaining why I decided to chair the jury. I’d like to emphasize that any film included in the main program could have won, because all of them were professionally selected and deserve excellent marks what happens not so often even in the most famous and largest festivals.” The film “Project Nim” was selected because it is quite a scientific one and very emotional and cinematic at the same time. It also possesses interesting professional innovations what immensely influenced the choice of the jury. The special jury prize was presented to the film “Substance”, because it reflects significant part of the life of second half of last century, and, besides, it features high professional characteristics. The next day audience voting results were summed up, and the Grand Audience Prize was presented to the film “Heartbeat” of directors Sophie Révil and Christophe Barraud. In 2012 the Festival was visited by more than 10,000 viewers on 11 platforms. The next step of the Festival became the series of screenings in Voronezh, where the Festival will be held on October 30, 2012.
