October 14, 18.30-The Putorana Plateau People film will be screened at the Russian Geographical Society's lecture hall. Transpolar Putorana is a huge lava field about 200 thousand square kilometers in area, raised over the surrounding landscapes and covered with woods. It lies to the North of Norilsk, and tourists hardly ever get there. The wild, harsh and remote land still keeps its primeval nature untouched and only reveals its terse beauty to daring explorers. The picture tells the story of three characters: Moscow photographer Vladimir Koval and hunters Viktor Sheresh and Boris Chevychelov. They talk simple and straightforward, and live their days utterly different from the urban dwellers.
The screening is free of charge.
