Prominent Western video artists in Moscow
October 12, 19.00-Within the IV Contemporary Science Film Festival 360˚ and Polytech.Science.Art program, the special video screening Imaging Science will be held at DI Telegraph. The screening programme lists video art and short films made by Joshua Bonnetta, Adam Brown, Geraldine Cox and other artists, engaged scientific research, technologies and innovations. Their works won numerous awards from international festivals, including Biofiction, Prix Ars Electronica, Berlinale and others.
The programme's specialities features Joshua Bonnetta, a multidisciplinary artist and cross-genre film maker and sound designer. His work has been shown at The Berlinale, The Toronto International Film Festival, The Images Festival, Mutek International Festival of Electronic Music, European Media Arts Festival, Rotterdam International Film Festival amongst others. He is an Assistant Professor in the department of Cinema, Photography and Media Arts at Ithaca College in New York state.
Adam Brown is a US based artist, participant of the Biofraction festival. Brown's creative research inspires and forms his works at the intersection of science and art. He focuses on robotics, mоlecular chemistry and cutting-edge technologies. The artist creates installations, interactive objects, video and performances.
UK based Geraldine Cox is a natural scientist and artist. She focuses on exploring the ways that knowledge of physical laws can enrich our perception of the world. Her artworks possess a distinct academic charm and are not only of artistic, but educational value as well.
The screening will be followed by discussion. The event is supported by MediaNovation. The programme created and assembled by Natalia Fuchs, the curator of interdisciplinary projects and the Polytech.Science.Art program of the Polytechnic Museum.
