In the mid 60’s, the films of Felix Sobolev played to capacity audiences all over the country. To a large extent, his pioneer works had a remarkable effect on the nonfiction films’ development. «The Blown Up Dawn» is a film-requiem, film-alarm and film-warning. It warns that a lack of mankind’s common sense can lead to the destruction of the earth through a nuclear disaster, as it allegedly happened once to a planet in our solar system, according to a scientific hypothesis.
